The Goose Girl

Yesterday I read "The Goose Girl" by Shannon Hales. It was so good and so fun! I loved it, just reading a good story again. And I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a "bedtime novel." I think that I'm going to start reading Isaac books during bedtime, to listen to instead of look at. This might be one of them.

My mom read to me and my brother when we were young. Some of my earliest memories are of 'James and the Giant Peach' 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Danny, the Champion of the World' all by Roald Dahl. Later books books included 'The Secret Garden' and 'The Little Princess'.

There was one series that I cannot recall the title of, but it was about to children that fly in a rocket ship to Earth's second moon, where they deliver chickens so the aliens can have sulfur in their diet from the eggs.

Anyways, I am glad she read more than the picture books to me, I think it really helped me develop a love of reading on my own. And it make me want to do so with my own kids someday.
