Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

To start with, there's the winged features. Well... there's not much other than that, but we wanted to give you (our readers) an update, and since that's what blogs do it seems pretty silly to introduce this idea every post. Although, I'm not exactly sure what this "idea" is--perhaps it has something to do with the number three.

Anyhoo, we had a unique experience today; Isaac was at his grandparents house, and he announced that it was time to leave, which he never wants to do because there is so much excitement and adventure there.

(We're trading sentences--it's John's turn again next.)

Tag, you're it.

I should cover my face with my hair. Obviously that wasn't me writing because that would be physically impossible, where me is the person for whom that would be, well, physically impossible. And much more long-winded than myself. I don't know, I thought the "Tag, you're it" one was pretty short, although I'm not sure why short is ideal when you're trying to fill a blog post; I guess it's ideal from a Nash Equilibrium sense if you were trying to avoid writing, but if it's worth avoiding I will happily march myself to the equilibrium for you.

He's just so sweet...I tricked him into thinking that I put a period there...and there...heeheehee...John's so great because he lets me laugh all the time, and he laughs with me, and we laugh at silly things, and we write a blog-post trading sentences for fun at night when really we should be sleeping. ;^p. John thinks he's Japanese. X.X. See, I toooold ya.

Well, Alison went to sleep standing here and left me to finish the post, It's been really nice having nice weather here, the boys played outside for a long time today and Alison and Rachel got a ton of good, deep cleaning done (thanks mom!) Danielle is starting to laugh more

I interrupt this program because John doesn't use proper punctuation!!! and he thinks he can keep writing with improper sentence structure And use capital letters to start a "not new" sentence in the middle of a sentence--Which came first, the chicken or the egg--Who writes last--John did the title, but I did the first sentence...

Camping Coupon

I made John 52 coupons as part of his Christmas present...in Arizona. He just started using them (I should have made expiration dates). He leaves them on our bathroom mirror for me to find.

So the one that's been up for a week is for an overnight camping trip. So, I'll plan it, get everything ready, and one day say, "Let's go! We'll be back tomorrow!"

The only problem is, it's still cold outside. And since we'll be taking our kids along, it needs to be about 60 degrees overnight. So, maybe May. It'll be fun to take our family camping though. I'm excited!

Marathon Training

One of my life goals is to run a marathon. Not to finish a marathon, but to actually run it, the whole 26.2 miles. And today, I found myself a partner to train with! I decided that next summer or fall (2008) would be the perfect time to run a marathon. And today I overheard Raquel say that she wanted to run one next year...Perfect! I guess that means that i need to start running again. I've lost most of my pregnancy weight, and I'm sleeping through most nights again, and I feel like I have energy. So now, I start to run!

Ashes, Ashes

Jeremiah (and sometimes Isaac) loves Ring-around-the-Rosie. Sometimes--well, often--I change it up a little at the end. "Ashes, ashes, we all jump up and down!" "Ashes, ashes, we all stand still!" It's more fun for me to come up with new endings.

But Jeremiah knows that ashes eventually fall down. He knows this because he opened up our fireplace and threw ashes out by the handful. He had Isaac join in the fun. They were throwing ashes all over the living room...and the ashes spread everywhere... On the piano, in the piano (aargh!), into the couch, on the wet cleaned-up-egg areas from earlier, the lamp, many books, lots of little toys... Oh, they had a great time.

But then Mommy came in the room, and somehow didn't see the wonder of it all. Oh. No. I didn't. Jeremiah got stuck in his crib while I vacuumed and vacuumed and vacuumed. I vacuumed everything, including the piano. (And later John tried steam cleaning the carpets...not the best idea. But he was trying to help...)

And the next morning, the rest of the ashes in the air had fallen down... "Ashes, ashes, they all fall down."

Isaac's HAPPY!

In his baby blessing, John blessed Isaac that he would laugh. We just felt that it was part of his personality, of who he was. One who laughs.

Isaac has been such a great big brother. He was eating apple slices in the car, and Jeremiah was looking over longingly at the apples. I asked Isaac if Jeremiah could have some, and he said, "No." But then I asked if he could share his apples with Jeremiah, and he happily said, "Okay, I share apples with Jeremiah."

And when we left from Grandpa Robinson's house last night, Isaac was saying that he wanted to go back to Grandpa's house adn that he was sad because we were leaving. But then he changed his mind. He said, "Isaac's happy. Isaac wants ice cream. Isaac wants to play Star Wars." Yes, in that order. And yes, he often refers to himself in third person.

Isaac's happy!

Danielle's (almost) 3 Months Old

She's getting so big! She doesn't really like tummy time, but she loves being held and danced with around the kitchen. She can sit up by herself holding onto my thumbs (I know it's not really all by herself, but sort of) and she keeps her head steady while she does. She makes happy cooing noises when she isn't smiling. She getting so good at wiggling, at moving her body in the ways she wants to go. She focuses on faces most of the time--toys aren't nearly as interesting to her. She wakes up so incredibly happy; she coos and wiggles in the bassinet until I wake up and come get her, and when she sees me, she grins.

Jeremiah and Isaac both love to hold her. Isaac will ask. Jeremiah just comes on over and hugs her tummy until I hand her over.

Danielle weighs at least 12 pounds, probably a bit more. She's outgrown all her 0-3 month clothes, except the gowns (because they have no feet!). I just washed all the clothes she's grown out of, and need to box them up. And then get her 3-6 month clothes up into the op drawer.

Danielle is so sweet. And she is beautiful. She got "chubby" over the weekend. Her eyes are so blue--different shades depending mostly on the lighting, and her hair is getting longer. And she laughs! Not often yet, but it's adorable when she does, and I do ridiculous things over and over trying to get her to laugh again.

Jeremiah's New Glasses

Jeremiah's far-sighted. We picked up his glasses on Monday, and he's doing a pretty good job keeping them on: he keeps them on until he notices they're there. He looks like a little intellect. And he looks like he needs a haircut.

We're getting a little sneaky with him. Since he keeps his glasses on if he doesn't know they're there, the best way to get them on is to reach over from behind his head. As in, without him seeing us put them on. It can be pretty fun... Distract him with a book, sneak his glasses on, then stand next to him and play a little finger game...

Jeremiah has a little nose. There's just a little bump at the end. So that's where his glasses fall on his face. And he'll look through the glasses sometimes, but mostly he wanders around looking above his glasses, so they don't really do any good yet. But it's really cute!
